EYF is a unique youth group. We talk about the focus our lives, the difficulties we face and how they relate to Christianity. Through discussion and cooperation, we apply Christian values to our lives in an informal setting. For example, if one of us is having a bad day, that person can be sure that at youth group, people will be there to listen to any troubles and not judge them, and that whatever is said will not leave the room.
We are a group of kids who like to be around each other. Some of us go to school together, but oftentimes, we only see each other once a week. But, we know that on Sunday nights, we are going to have a great time at EYF. Whether it is screaming our heads off during a tremendous game of Sardines, or fighting our way to victory in a game of midnight football, we bond together and have fun doing it. We also watch great movies and shows, like
Jesus Camp and
One Punk under God that relate to life, the church, and our faith.
If this has not convinced you, we have dinner as one, often pizza, and we even do other stuff together, not just on Sunday nights. We painted the entire youth group room one Saturday, and we made a dinner for the local soup kitchen. We are always planning more community service projects, and they are actually fun. When you get to hang out with your friends, everything is fun, even stirring green beans.
We are planning a float trip in southern Missouri this June. So, if you want some awesome memories, great new friends, and a more casual God than you get on Sunday mornings, come join us for EYF.
High school (grades 10-12) meets every Sunday night, 7pm-9pm.
Junior high (grades 7-9) meets on Wednesday nights, 6:30pm-8pm.
