Worship Music
Music for the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Sunday services, and for special services throughout the year, is provided by the organists and the choral and handbell choirs under the direction of Ed Hanson.
Cambridge Choir
The adult choir of Calvary parish is open to all senior-high age or older members of the congregation who are reasonably acquainted with music and who are willing to commit to a regular schedule of rehearsals and services. The adult choir provides music at the 11:15 a.m. Sunday services from September through May and at the 10:00 a.m. services through June and July. Those who are interested in singing with this choir but are unable to participate on a full-time basis are encouraged to join the choir's regular membership for special services during the Christmas and Easter seasons. Rehearsals are Wednesdays from 7:30 to 9:00 p.m., September through May.
Canterbury Choir
This choir is open to young people in the fourth grade or older. It provides music at the 9:00 a.m. Sunday service from September to May. Beginning choristers are provided with a training program each fall to acquaint them with the liturgy and service music of the church. Members must be committed to regular attendance at rehearsals and services. Annual events include several fellowship activities, including a trip to St. Louis for the Diocesan Flower Festival in the spring. Canterbury Choir rehearses on Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30, September through May.
Younger Children's Choir
On the first Sunday of each month, music is offered to our Sunday School classes for younger children, up through second grade. Ed provides the children with fun, accessible music that helps them to learn about being a Christian. We all have a good time! Music is provided during Children's Chapel as well.
Handbell Choirs
Both the beginning (Alpha) and advanced (Agape) bell choirs play at services about once a month throughout the year. The Alpha Bell Choir rehearses at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays; the Agape Choir rehearses at 6:30 p.m.
